Last-Minute Strategies To Cash In On Holiday Art Sales

Episode 33 Show Transcript - Empowered Artist Podcast

Hey there, it's Jenna Webb, your go-to online art business coach and influencer.

In today's episode, we're going to dive into a topic that's crucial for artists looking to boost their online art business during the holiday season.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this episode will provide you with valuable insights and strategies to make the most of this lucrative time of year.

Don't Miss Holiday Sales

If you haven't already planned a holiday sale for your art, don't worry; it's not too late. And if you're already ahead of the game, stick around because I'll be sharing tips and additional ways to maximize your sales during this popular buying season…

Step 1: Name Your Sale

The first step in planning a last-minute holiday sale is to give it a catchy name!

Your sale's name should reflect the holiday or occasion you're celebrating in your business. For example, I recently planned a "Thanksgiving Gratitude Sale" and a "Birthday Sale" to coincide with my own birthday in December.

Make sure your sale feels rare and special, and let your customers know that it's a unique opportunity.

Step 2: Choose a Timeframe and Deadline

Set a timeframe for your sale and establish a clear deadline. Deadlines create a sense of urgency, prompting customers to make decisions quickly.

For my Thanksgiving Gratitude Sale, I ran a 48-hour flash sale. This limited-time offer encouraged customers to act fast, knowing that the opportunity wouldn't last long.

Step 3: Determine Your Discount or Special Offer

Decide on the discount or special offer you want to provide. I recommend offering between 10% and 15% off your art, or you can opt for something like free shipping.

Remember, it's your business, so choose an offer that aligns with your goals and values.

For my Thanksgiving Gratitude Sale, I offered a 15% discount on original paintings, emphasizing how rare such a sale was for my business.

Step 4: Create an Attention-Grabbing Hook

Craft an attention-grabbing subject line or hook for your social media and email marketing efforts. Your hook should pique curiosity and make your audience want to learn more.

For example, you can use hooks like "Take 10% Off My Original Paintings, 48 Hours Only" or "Take 15% Off My Digital Print Shop, Act Now." Make sure your messaging stands out and encourages engagement.

Step 5: Send Reminders About Your Sale

Don't forget to send out reminders about your sale. People are busy, and it's easy for them to forget about your offer.

A well-timed reminder can rekindle their interest and prompt them to make a purchase. Remind them that the sale is ending soon, and it's their last chance to take advantage of the special offer.

The Importance of Warm and Cold Audiences

Understanding the difference between warm and cold audiences is crucial for effective sales.

Warm audiences are already familiar with you and your art; they follow you on social media and are on your email list. They know, like, and trust you, making them more likely to convert.

Cold audiences, on the other hand, are less familiar with your work and require more nurturing to become customers.

Conclusion: Take Action Now

Running a holiday sale is not only a great way to boost your income but also an excellent opportunity to practice your sales and marketing skills.

Regardless of your audience's temperature (cold, warm, or somewhere in between), these five steps can help you make the most of the holiday season.

Don't wait; take action now and plan your last-minute holiday sale using these strategies. Whether you sell a lot or a little, the experience gained will benefit your future sales efforts.
